What am I doing Here?

This is my first blog post. I don’t know much about these things, but I’ll give it a try. Stay tuned for more. You’ll find information about my book, Tales from the Town of Widows, forthcoming from Harper Collins on January 2, 2007.

James! It’s Susan from Blue Mountain. I am SO thrilled about your book. It looks like it’s doing wonderfully- I am going to buy one RIGHT AWAY.  Will you come to California for readings?  If so, please come to my home-based reading series- I have a great audience who would love to meet you.

I can’t wait to get a copy and finally read the whole novel start to finish! I’ve so enjoyed the parts I’ve read or heard you read.

I’m wondering though, do new authors have to “blog” now in addition to traveling all around the country reading and selling their books? Might not that lead to the next step of being required to chat on-line with their readers using live-cam? And what next???
